Kids Day at PNC Park with the Pirates

Pirates Baseball at PNC Park~20160726_202538

Many families schedule their visits around the Pirates Baseball schedule. Mountain Top Campground is located on the east side of the city with easy access to the stadium. Its amazing to see how many people come through following different baseball teams. Kids day is every Sunday afternoon home game.  Kids 10 and under get to run the bases after the game. Line up at the gate in the 8th inning by the playground to sign up.  (See a customer service counter at PNC for further details)kid on field

We are often asked whats the best way to get to the park from Mountain Top.  Its super easy here’s how:

Beware! this route has low overpasses!

This is not the place to park an RV its very difficult to find parking for large vehicles downtown.  The best way to go to a game with an RV is to take the Ferry over from Station Square (click here)

From Mountain Top Campground take Bull Creek Road (Exit 14) for 5 miles back to Route 28 South. Take 28 South to the North Shore Exit (Exit 2b) its a left exit ramp. Follow the ramp to the stop light.  Go straight through the light 100ft to Lacock St. and stadium parking will be on your right and left.  I recommend the first lot you see on your right. Its cost 15 Dollars to park.  This lot is a block and a half from PNC Park.

Since Heinz Field is located near by follow the same directions but continue on Locock St. until you start seeing signs for parking.
